The Golden Trail Nation Series (GTNS) returns in 2023 with a chance to win an invite to our Nordic final in Norway. Competing here gives you the opportunity to win golden tickets and race the world final against some of the world’s best athletes at the Il Golfo Dell’Isola Trail Race

2 BODOM TRAIL 5 MAY, FINLAND / 21KM+ 500M

3 HAMMER TRAIL 13 MAY, DENMARK / 30K +1100M
4 NØSEN HUNDREDS 17 JUNE, NORWAY/ 21,8KM + 832M

5 SALOMON 27K FJÄLLMARATHON 30 JULY, SWEDEN / 27KM +1150M

6 STRANDA FJORD TRAIL RACE 12 AUGUST, NORWAY / 25KM +1700M

7 ROMSDALSEGGENLØPET 2 SEPTEMBER, NORWAY / 28KM + 2400M

8 NORDICS FINAL 16 SEPTEMBER, FÝRI TRAIL, NORWAY / 29 KM + 1200M

Rules

Runners must participate in one of the seven qualifying races to be invited to the Golden Trail Series Nordics final. The Nordics final is mandatory to get a ranking and qualify for the Golden Trail World Series (GTWS) final in Italy.

The podium in both categories, men and women, on each Golden Trail National Series race will give a bib for the Golden Trail Nordics Final in Norway. The winners will receive financial support to transport and accommodation.

However if a runner didn’t win a ticket in one of the national races to receive an invitation to the Nordic final he/she can still go at their own expense.

The winners of the Golden Trail National Series final (3 male and 3 female) will receive a ticket* for the Golden Trail World Series final in Il Golfo Dell'Isola Trail Race.

This Grand Final will gather all the different Golden Trail National Series: France-Belgium, Spain-Portugal, Italy, United Kingdom, Germany-Austria, Czech Republic-Slovakia-Poland, USA-Canada, Mexico and the Nordics.

The top 3 men and women from this Grand Final will win a Golden Ticket to participate in the Golden Trail Championship (GTC) 2024, under the condition that he/she has participated in one of the Golden Trail National Series 2023.

Race Cancelation

In the event of race cancellations, the rules will apply as below:

In the event one of the qualifying races (Hammer Trail, Bodom Trail, Salomon 27k, Sandnes Ultra Trail, Nøsen Hundreds, Stranda Fjord Trail Race, Romsdalseggenløpet) is postponed and/or canceled the participant will be informed about the alternative solution.

In the event there are less than 3 GTNS still active, the GTNS Grand Final is canceled. The M&W winners of the GTNS NORDICS will receive a Golden Ticket for the GTC 2024.

In the event the GTWS has switched to the GTC format, the GTNS NORDICS switches to a GTC format. The winners of the races which have not been canceled get a Golden Ticket for the GTC 2024.

In the final event on 16th of September 2023 is postponed and/or canceled, the winners of the GTNS Nordics will be selected by a lottery organized by the Golden Trail National Series Nordics among the winners of the four qualifying races.

Injuries

In the event of injury and the inability to compete before the competition, the runner who would have won a ticket for the GTNS Grand Final, or for the GTC, will not receive any compensation and will lose his/her ticket and will not receive travel expenses..

Prizes

The podium in both categories of each qualifying race of the GTNS Nordics will receive their tickets* to participate in the GTNS Nordic Final. Therefore, they will receive financial support to transport and accommodation.

The first 3 men and women from the GTNS Grand Final will receive their tickets for the Golden Trail Championship 2023. Therefore, they will receive financial support up to the maximum sum specified in the GTC 2022 rules to participate in the Championship and receive free and guaranteed race bib.

Photo, video and TV rights

Any competitor expressly waives the right to the image during the GOLDEN TRAIL NATIONAL SERIES 2023, as he/she renounces all recourse against the organizer and the authorized partners for the use made of his/her image.
